Step – by – Step Installation Process

1. Install the Faucet

- Insert the faucet stem through the sink hole from the top.
- From underneath the sink, attach the mounting nut and tighten it using a wrench. Make sure the faucet is secure and straight.

2. Connect the Cold – Water Supply

- Locate the cold - water supply line under the sink. You can use a saddle valve or a tee fitting to connect the RO system to the cold - water line.
- If using a saddle valve:
    - Clean the area on the cold - water pipe where the saddle valve will be installed.
    - Place the saddle valve on the pipe and tighten the screws until it's secure.
    - Use a drill to puncture the pipe through the valve's hole.
    - Connect one end of the tubing to the saddle valve and the other end to the pre - filter of the RO system.
- If using a tee fitting:
    - Cut the cold - water pipe using a tubing cutter.
    - Insert the tee fitting into the cut section of the pipe and solder or use compression fittings to secure it.
    - Connect the tubing to the tee fitting and the pre - filter.

3. Install the Pre – filters

- The pre - filters usually come with color - coded connections. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to connect the pre - filters in the correct order.
- Use Teflon tape on the threaded connections to prevent leaks.
- Connect the tubing between the pre - filters and the RO membrane.

4. Install the RO Membrane

- Carefully insert the RO membrane into its housing. Make sure it's properly seated and the o - rings are in place.
- Connect the tubing from the pre - filters to the inlet of the RO membrane and the tubing from the outlet of the RO membrane to the storage tank.

5. Install the Storage Tank

- Place the storage tank in a suitable location under the sink.
- Connect the tubing from the RO membrane to the inlet of the storage tank.
- There is usually a pressure valve on the storage tank. Adjust it according to the manufacturer's instructions.

6. Install the Post – filter

- Connect the tubing from the storage tank to the post - filter.
- Then, connect the tubing from the post - filter to the faucet.

7. Connect to the Drain

- Locate the drain line under the sink. You can use a drain saddle or a tee fitting to connect the RO system's drain line to the drain.
- If using a drain saddle:
    - Clean the area on the drain pipe where the saddle valve will be installed.
    - Place the drain saddle on the pipe and tighten the screws.
    - Connect the drain tubing from the RO system to the drain saddle.
- If using a tee fitting:
    - Cut the drain pipe and insert the tee fitting.
    - Connect the drain tubing from the RO system to the tee fitting.

Testing the System

  1. Turn on the Water Supply
    • Slowly turn on the main water shut – off valve. Check for any leaks at all the connections. If you find a leak, tighten the connection or replace the o – ring.
  2. Flush the System
    • Let the system run for about 15 – 20 minutes to flush out any air and initial contaminants. The water may be cloudy at first, but it should clear up.
  3. Check the Water Quality
    • After flushing, collect a sample of the purified water and test it for contaminants. You can use a water testing kit to check for common contaminants such as lead, chlorine, and hardness.

Troubleshooting Common Issues

  1. Low Water Pressure
    • Check the water supply valve to ensure it’s fully open.
    • Inspect the pre – filters for clogging. If they are dirty, replace them.
  2. Leaking Connections
    • Tighten the connections using a wrench. If the leak persists, check the o – rings and replace them if necessary.
  3. Cloudy Water
