[ADV] Exclusive launch of Leica C

28 November 2013

I'm really excited to blog about the pre-launch of the new Leica C that I attend earlier this month. I bet everyone has heard of Leica! It's a world renowned brand that is synonymous with photography, and at long last I got to do a project for Leica.  It was such an honour to get invited to their Leica C exclusive preview.

Leica C is the newest from the Leica range and is their first venture into the compact segment which is suited to consumers like myself who like using and carrying a small but powerful camera.
So...is the Leica C a good camera? Well you’ve got to read on…

It's sweet to receive a personalised an invitation card from Leica a few days before the event!

Thank you MHB for this exclusive opportunity, only few of the MHB bloggers got the privilege to join this event. I'm grateful that I'm one of them hehehehehe!

First up in the programme was a mini photo shoot session in the Leica store in Starhill Gallery. The makeup was provided for us while the outfits were loaned by Missoni whose boutique was also located in the Starhill Gallery.

Andy Kho using a super expensive Leica S for the photoshoot.
That’s me posing during the shoot. Elaine Daly was giving me tips and guidance on how to pose. She said that good models need to come up with the story in their heads then translate that to the pose.

A group photo with all the girls and Elaine Daly
It was nice having Elaine Daly, who is a model and actress and Miss Malaysia Universe 2003 to guide us during the photo shoot, and sharing her knowledge on posing techniques for fashion photography. I had fun during the shoot, and gained a lil experience too!

This is my photo which is the outcome of the photoshoot by using the Leica S!

We headed to the Starhill Culinary Studio for a high tea session at Wai's Dining Room after the photo shoot.
The dining room is really classy. Thank you Leica for the arrangement and making us feel like a VIP.

Andy taught us how to capture the food from different angles, and also highlighted some basic knowledge about cameras and some key features of the Leica C. Thank you Andy Kho for all the useful information :)

Taking pictures with the Leica C. It was easy and the details in the photo were so clear!

I'm paying so much attention to what Andy is teaching; look at my very serious looking face.

Alright, Let's scroll down for more photos! All photos were taken using Leica C.

The Leica C has an unusually large sensor for a pocket-sized camera, can capture very sharp pictures with outstanding contrast, even in very low light.

Look at the photo quality! The Close-up is great for really bringing out the detail of your subject.
Awwww, I wish i could bring this camera along to every food reviews!
Last but not least, a selfie with Stephanie Lim. Love the color.
Here's a sample of what Leica C can do

The Wi-Fi function allow us to transferred the photos to our smartphones. We transferred all the photo by using wifi to our smartphone easily. It's so simple and user friendly. I really wanted to get one!!

The Leica C is the first model of a new line of Leica digital compact cameras and features a high-performance Leica DC Vario-Summicron 6–42.8 mm f/2–5.9 ASPH. zoom lens with a range equivalent to 28 to 200 mm in 35 mm format, and an exceptionally large 1/1.7″ MOS sensor with a resolution of 12 megapixels.

Equipped with fast autofocus and a continuous-shooting mode with up to ten frames per second, it captures even the tiniest details and is ideal for all types of photography from portraits to wide-coverage shots and capturing the beauty of landscapes.

What this means is that the Leica C virtually guarantees outstanding imaging performance and crystal-clear photos with brilliant, natural colours, clarity and contrast even in unfavourable lighting conditions.

The Leica C is the first Leica compact camera to feature an integrated Wi-Fi and NFC (Near Field Communication) module for the wireless transmission of image data to smartphones and tablet PCs via the Leica C Image Shuttle app available for free on either iOS or Android platforms. The WLAN and the app even enables users to remote control the Leica C from a smartphone or tablet PC – very handy for remote-release photography and shooting with the self-timer or simply to amaze your friends!

The camera’s full-HD video function allows you to capture high quality video while the 3″ camera monitor offers a large enough view to see what you’re shooting. Videos and still pictures can both be creatively processed either in the camera or with the Adobe® Photoshop® Lightroom® professional imaging software that comes bundled with the camera.

Audi Design are responsible for the compact yet elegant looks of this camera, and they were also responsible for the development of the unique range of camera accessories. The Leica C is available in two finishes, light gold and dark red.

The camera’s integrated viewfinder (in the upper left hand side) is a useful aid for composition and assessment of scenes especially in brightly lit situations.

The freely programmable ring on the lens is very useful and convenient indeed!

The mode dial on the top provides fast and easy switching between modes!

To complement the Leica C’s is a range of five (5) specially designed, perfectly finished, premium matching accessories. Each of these bags and cases is a unique and fashionable accessory – for example, the Leica C-Clutch (pictured here) is an elegant clutch handbag with carrying strap, available in light gold or dark red Alcantara with a sandblasted metal closer, and offers two separate compartments with ample space for the camera and other personal belongings.
